Read’s Drug Store

Description

View of pedestrians walking in front of the Read's Drug Store located at 123 North Howard Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Signage on the building encourages shoppers to "Run Right to Reads." A chain of stores based in Baltimore, Read's Drug Store was founded by William Read and bought by the Nattans family in 1899. The store at this location was the site of one of America's first anti-segregation sit-ins in 1955.
