Rifle
Description
British Tower Musket found at Chew House in Germantown, Pennsylvania, after the Battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777. However, it could not have been used in the Battle of Germantown as the musket was not being produced for the army yet at that time. It is a truncated pattern 1777 Short Land Musket, which makes it incredibly rare as not many of these weapons exist. Marked "40th Regiment," the rifle was likely produced around 1780 and carried by a member of this troop in a later battle during the American Revolutionary War.
