Separates set

Description

Matching navy separates designed by Claire McCardell (1905-1958) for the label 'Claire McCardell Clothes by Townley.' The jacket has leather buckle closures and Dolman sleeves, while the skirt is fitted at the hips and straight, cut at the calf. Born in Frederick, Maryland, McCardell pioneered the creation of casual, comfortable American sportswear for women.
