Shirtwaist dress

Description

Born in Frederick, Maryland, Claire McCardell (1905-1958) pioneered the creation of casual, comfortable American sportswear for women. Like many of her designs, this black silk taffeta shirtwaist dress features Dolman sleeves and deep useful pockets.
