Southern Hotel

Description

A view of the Southern Hotel located on the corner of East Redwood and Light Streets in Baltimore, Maryland. Built by Abraham J. Fink (1890-1963) and designed by Otto B. Simonson (1862-1922), this 14-story, 400 room hotel opened in 1918. It was Baltimore's first large Jewish-owned hotel and kept a kosher kitchen. In the 1970s, it was converted into a marine engineering school and by 1999 the building had been razed.
