State of Maryland bounty application of Solomon Price

Description

A state of Maryland bounty application signed by Solomon Price, a private in the 14th Regiment of U. S. Colored Troops. The sum of the bounty is left blank on the form, but the verso states that it was for $300. The document attests that Price "was a free man when he enlisted and had been free at least 12 years." The application is signed by numerous witnesses, including James Tilghman, Jesse Clayton, and Daniel Dolan.
