Description

Stereoview photograph of the deck of an oyster boat in the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. The view shows thousands of oysters that have been dredged from the ocean bottom and hauled on deck with nets by African American crew members. A dredge with attached net can be seen in the foreground, with another being emptied on the left. The image is captioned "On the Deck of an Oyster Boat, Chesapeake Bay, Md."
