Switchback roller coaster
Description
View of the "Switchback," a wooden roller coaster at the Tolchester Beach Amuseument Park in Kent County, Maryland. The park consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. It was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
