Sword

Description

A U.S. Model 1850 foot officer's sword carried by Edwin W. Moffett. Moffett enlisted in Company F, 8th Maryland Infantry Regiment on August 21, 1862, and served until May 31, 1865. The handle is made of sharkskin, and the handguard has "U.S" and floral decorations on it. The tip of the scabbard has worn down, likely from dragging.
