Tolchester flooding

Description

Two figures stand in a rowboat on a flooded street in Tolchester, Maryland. An automobile and horse carriage are parked in the street, partially submerged in the water. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amusement Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. The Kent County park was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
