Tolchester, looking up the ravine

Description

View of a road and railroad bridge in Tolchester, Maryland. Two horse carriages can be seen driving down the road. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amuseument Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. The Kent County park was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
