Woman standing atop Mason-Dixon line 15-mile crownstone

Description

Mile marker 15 (16) of the Mason-Dixon line, from the west boundary between Pennsylvania and Maryland. This marker is one of the crownstones that appeared at 5-mile intervals. It displays the coat-of-arms of the Maryland Calvert family on the south side and Pennsylvania Penn family on the north. This image depicts a woman standing atop the stone in Cecil County, Maryland, with the stone's south side facing forward to show the Calvert family shield.
