A side view of the Excursion house at the Tolchester Beach Amusement Park in Tolchester, Maryland. Two figures sit on a low ledge of the building. This Kent County park consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. It was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
