The Maryland Center for History and Culture’s publications program offers dynamic, vibrant insights into all areas of Maryland history for scholarly, specialist, and general readers.

We publish the Maryland Historical Magazine, a semiannual, peer-reviewed journal, as well as select books that tell the story of the United States through the lens of Maryland. MCHC’s publications bring into print the freshest and brightest new research on Maryland’s past. Historians at all stages of their careers are encouraged to submit work for consideration. Our Publications staff, in cooperation with the Publications Committee, oversees the review process.
