Museum Ticketing & Hours
Holiday season hours: The Maryland Center for History and Culture will be closed on December 25, 26, 27, and January 1. The museum will be open on December 28 and December 29.
Due to hourly capacity limits, it is strongly encouraged that you book your ticket in advance. See below for admission rates and be sure to join or renew your membership for FREE admission to Maryland Center for History and Culture

Enjoy free Museum admission and visiting hours extended until 8 pm on the first Thursday of every month. Advance ticket reservations are recommended.

10 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Sunday
(With extended hours the first Thursday of each month until 8:00pm)
The Maryland Center for History and Culture is closed to the public on the following holidays: Easter, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

H. Furlong Baldwin Library Ticketing & Hours
Appointments are not necessary for the H. Furlong Baldwin Library’s Main Reading Room but Special Collections visits are by appointment only.
Holiday season hours: the H. Furlong Baldwin Library will be closed between December 24, 2024, and January 1, 2025.
Admission
Library admission is included when paying for museum ticket. All library visitors must register upon arrival. If visiting the library ONLY the following admission rates apply:
$6 – Non-members
FREE – Members, children under 18, and students with ID
Reading Room Hours
Wednesday–Friday and the second Saturday of each month, 10 am—5 pm
The main Reading Room includes reference and history books, microfilm, and genealogical resources.
Special Collections Hours
Wednesday—Friday and the second Saturday of each month, 10 am—5 pm (by appointment only)
Special Collections include manuscripts, photographs, rare books and pamphlets, maps, and other archival materials.

Free Museum Admission Programs
reciprocal visitors to mchc
Visitors with a reciprocal membership benefit through the Time Travelers, North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association, Greater Baltimore Historical Alliance (GBHA), or the Council of American Maritime Museums (CAMM) are granted free admission to the Maryland Center for History and Culture’s Museum and Library. Visitors taking advantage of one of these reciprocal programs may reserve a ticket by calling the Visitor Experience Desk at 410.685.3750 x.0.

MCHC is a proud member of Museums for All and Blue Star Museums free-admission programs. Free admission is applicable for the Museum ONLY and must be redeemed in person. Visit the program websites for more information about benefits and qualifications for each. Note: The Blue Star Museums program runs from Armed Forces Day in May through Labor Day each year.
