Mrs. Bond was the daughter of James Mackall Taylor (1778-1825) and Rebecca Taylor and the second wife of Basil Duke Bond (1817-1899), a Calvert County farmer. They married in 1853 and produced no children together, although Mr. Bond had two sons and two daughters from his first marriage.
