Sesquicentennial procession on North Eutaw Street

Description

Street view of the Baltimore Sesquicentennial Celebration procession, which occurred in October 1880 to mark the 150th anniversary of Baltimore, Maryland's founding in 1730. The festivities included oration, tableaux, meetings, and music; five days of parades of various groups, including African American social organizations, masons, school children, military organizations, letter carriers, telegraph messengers, fire and police departments; and concluding with illumination of the city and pyrotechnic displays.
