Oath of Allegiance from Washington County, Maryland

Description

An Oath of Allegiance document from Washington County, Maryland, with the names of all residents who took the oath before county magistrate John Barnes. This document was hand-copied from the original by Barnes for filing at the Washington County court. The original oath document would have been signed by the hand of each resident who had taken the oath and then submitted by Barnes to the governor and council in Annapolis.
