Chair, Side

Twenty-first century reproduction of a side chair designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe (1764-1820) and produced by the Finlay Brothers for President James Madison's oval office room. The original was destroyed in 1814 when the British set fire to the President's House. This full scale reproduction was based on Latrobe's original design (1961.130.1.1) and produced by furniture makers Robert Graf and Robert Frey.
