Chair

Description

Mahogany side chair with leather covered drop in seat, an H-stretcher between the legs, and a missing center back splat. This chair furnished Henry Fite's Tavern, famously known as "Congress Hall," which was located on Market Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Henry Fite (1722-1789), who was born Heinrich Voigt, immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Germany in 1749.
