Esskay Vacuum Cooked Ham

Description

This container of Esskay Vacuum Cooked Ham unopened and empty and was likely used for window display purposes. Esskay was established in 1858 by German immigrant William Schluderberg (1839-1921). In 1919, the meatpacking company merged with Thomas J. Kurdle's (1855-1935) company to form Schluderberg-Kurdle (S-K), which inspired the popular trademark Esskay. While the company left the state in 1993, they still maintain a wide distribution of deli meats in Maryland.
