Interior Scene

Description

Interior scene shows three groups of people. The central group features an older woman and a young girl tending to an infant, while a man and another young girl hold up bundles of fruit and herbs beside them. A group of girls sit at a low table to the right of the composition practicing needlework, while a woman in a white dress with a pink wrapper and a tiara reclines on a red upholstered chaise lounge in the foreground. A large central gothic revival window behind the group of people reveals a scene of a town along a winding river. Another group of men and women sit around a red clothed table in the background at left under another large window. Three women look adoringly at the seated man, with a woman standing behind him with her hands on his shoulder.
