Prints depicting oystering scenes in the Chesapeake Bay, from page 26 of Harper's Weekly (vol. 28, no. 1412). Captions on each scene read (from top left to bottom), "The pirates attacking the police schooner 'Julia Hamilton,'" "'I demand the surrender of Sylvester Cannon'," "Pirates dredging at night," and "The Maryland police steamers chasing the pirate fleet." Beneath all of the prints is the text "The oyster war in Chesapeake Bay -- Drawn by Schell and Hogan -- [See page 138.]."
