Pitcher

Description

Creamware pitcher manufactured by Herculaneum Pottery in Liverpool, England. On one side is a black transfer print of a ship flying the American flag. On the opposite side, the motto "PEACE, PLENTY AND INDEPENDENCE" is displayed in an oval medallion that is flanked by female figures holding cornucopias, a cannon, battle flag, and spread-wing eagle. Underneath the pitcher's spout is a transfer print of the federal eagle holding a banner with the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
