Daguerreotype portrait of Fielding Lucas Jr., (1781-1854), a Baltimore bookseller and publisher. A native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, he was raised in Baltimore by his uncle, Fielding Lucas, Sr. In 1810, he married Eliza Mary Carrell (1788-1863), daughter of John Carrell of Philadelphia.
