Daguerreotype portrait of James Crawford Nielson (1816-1900) and his son, Albert Nielson (1842-1918). James Nielson was a Baltimore architect and partner in the firm of Niernsee and Nielson with Rudolph Niernsee (1814-1884). In 1840, he married Rosa Williams (1818-1904), daughter of Hon. James Wray Williams of Harford County. The couple were parents to: Albert (1842-1918), married Flora Henderson; Rosa (1847-1912), married John C. Keighler; and Charles (1849-1923), married Elizabeth Harrison.
