Road near Tolchester hotel

Description

A view of a road next to the hotel in Tolchester, Maryland. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amusement Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. It was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland. The hotel can be seen on the left and the Excursion house can be seen down the road, along with the pier on the Chesapeake Bay.
