Sharp Street Methodist Episcopal Church

Description

Engraving from a news clipping of Sharp Street Methodist Episcopal Church, once located at 112-116 Sharp Street in Baltimore, Maryland. The church was occupied by the "Colored Methodist Society" until 1898 when the Society erected a new and larger building to accommodate their growing membership. The newer structure, named Sharp Street Memorial United Methodist Church, was located at Dolphin and Etting Streets. The caption beneath the image reads: "Sharp Street M. E. Church, (colored), between Lombard and Pratt Street."
