Sword

Description

G.A.R (Grand Army of the Republic) rapier owned by Captain Edwin W. Moffett of the 8th Maryland Volunteer Infantry, U.S.A. The G.A.R was a Union Veteran's Association. Members wore G.A.R swords with their uniforms. The swords are based on the 1860 Staff and Field Officers Sword. Captain Moffett was a member until his death in 1880.
