The steam-yacht ‘Ross Winans’

Description

Depiction of the steam-powered yacht "Ross Winans" at sea. The ship was an iron-clad prototype whose unique shape inspired the name "cigar ship." Three flags fly above the yacht alongside two steam plumes and people can be seen waving from the deck. In the foreground are more people cheering atop a pier and from smaller wooden boats.
