Three men on a felled tree in Tolchester, Maryland, following a storm and flood. Damaged structures can be seen in the background. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amusement Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. The Kent County park was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
