William Hilliard Hebb, Jr.

Description

Oil on canvas portrait painting of William Hilliard Hebb (1801-1860), ca. 1840-1850, by an unidentified artist (possibly Kohn?). Hebb was born in St. Mary's County. His first wife was Priscilla Mackall Loker Hebb (1796-1845). After her death, he married Caroline Ann Penn Hebb (1816-1904). He worked as a farmer and was a father to five children. Hebb owned "Hill View" a 260 acre farm in the Great Mills area of St. Mary's County. He is buried in St. George Episcopal Church Cemetery.
